Course Description

 The objective of this course is to bring students to an appreciation of the multi-faceted relationship between business and the environment within which it operates. This will include the legal and ethical responsibilities of business.  The participant will be led to an appreciation of the functions of production, marketing, finance, human resource management and the inter-relation of these functions in the management of business. Upon completion of the course participants should be able to: understand and apply relevant concepts and definitions in Management usage encompassing – managing, management theory, planning and organising, environmental considerations, management information. Through application of these to practical case studies and “real” examples of management practice the student, through discussion and analysis should be able to apply knowledge gained for practical “working” situations.
