This course is designed to provide participants with an understanding of environmental issues in general as well as environmental issues that are of particular importance to the human resources practitioner, including those environmental issues that are concentrated in the working environment and have a tendency to impact on the health and safety of the worker.

The course is divided into four intense modules: Module 1 provides the foundation of the course and will enable participants to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the relationships between the natural environment and economic and social well-being; Module 2 introduces participants to key issues and problems around human health and the environment and seeks to link these issues with roles for the HR Practitioner (for example air pollution and indoor air pollution and the role of the HR Practitioner); Module 3 addresses in great detail core environmental issues in the workplace and the role of the HR Practitioner in addressing these issues.

Module 4 addresses occupational health and safety standards, the legal responsibilities of the employer and the employee, as well as the HR Practioner’s role.
