The course is designed to enable students to acquire an understanding of the basic concepts of Mathematics and an appreciation for the study of Mathematics as a way of thinking rather than a method for developing computational skills and the manipulation of formulae. The course is also designed to expose students to some of the mathematical concepts and techniques that are required to study mathematical models in business, economics and social sciences.
