This course is intended for persons with little or no prior knowledge of Spanish. Therefore, it is aimed at developing basic communicative competence in the target language by equipping participants with both the receptive skills (listen, read) and the productive skills (speak, write) to function in common real-life situations where the target language is used. It is also expected to serve as a foundation course for continued studies in the language.
