Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management

Introduction

Effective and efficient management of human resources is vital to the success of every organisation. The human resource function plays a strategic role in the successful growth and development of the organisation and is integral to the development of policy and the achievement of the organisational goals and objectives. Human Resource Management, as a discipline and practice, is continuously evolving and it is against this background that MIND’s Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management was designed to develop the skills and competencies of existing and aspiring human resource practitioners in both public and private sectors.

Programme Goals

MIND’s Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management Programme is designed to equip participants with leading cutting edge human resource management skills that will enhance their roles as strategic partners within their organisations.  Against the background of the Government of Jamaica’s Public Sector Modernisation Programme, this programme places great emphasis on strategic human resource management and planning and is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills and attitude to carry out their roles as strategic partners within their organisations.  Importance is placed on strategic practices, current laws, trends and research related to the various areas of human resource management. Participants’ knowledge and skills are greatly enhanced as they receive training in key areas of human resource management. 

Programme Structure

The Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management comprises six (6) modules, which are delivered over 450 hours (comprising 30 credits) and has a delivery cycle of twelve (12) months. Successful completion of all six (6) modules is a requirement for certification.

Target Group

This programme is designed for managers at all levels currently involved in or aspiring to human resource management responsibilities.
